The tragic mass shooting that happened in Texas last Sunday left everyone in tears and many celebrities used their social media accounts to express condolences. Among them was quite the scandalous Miley Cyrus, who appears to be fed up with the current situation.
Last Monday, the 24-year-old star posted a photo on Instagram with a heartfelt caption, saying how the act was not human and naming the shooter a terrorist and a “WHITE AMERICAN MAN!” She continued talking about gun control and how she was “disgusted” and “embarrassed” by her country.
The post caught everyone’s eye, and there was a follow-up. In her second Instagram post on the matter, Miley talked about president Trump and his reaction to this tragic event:
“I’d like to believe that EVERY person who takes the life of another being is ‘mentally ill.’ It’s hard to conceptualize that a sane human could commit such a hideous crime. BUT I am sorry Donald Trump this absolutely is a ‘GUNS SITUATION.’”
A lot of people criticised her for mentioning the shooter’s skin color and sex in her previous caption. In her second Instagram post, she also explained that gender, race and religion do matter to her.
The young singer and actress ended her rant posting three photos of her with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and her two brothers, Braison and Trace, now changing her mind and saying that she does not want to generalize or stereotype and these are just a few of her “favorite WHITE AMERICAN MALES.”
